It looks like the Mike London era may have jump-started itself a bit earlier. Virginia might be a real threat this year.
Mike London was hired as the head coach at Virginia after our all-time favorite Cavalier coach Al Groh was fired at the end of the 2009 season.
Working with a team that Al Groh mustered, London managed only a 4-8 record in 2010, but one of London's specialties is recruiting. He is focusing on rebuilding the Wahoos into a competitive team and with last week's win over ranked Georgia Tech and tonight's victory over the Hurricanes, the Cavs come within one win of bowl eligibility. Worse for the Hokies and perhaps a motivation for the Wahoos, the Hoos are in the running for the Coastal Division title.
Oh, if you don't think London is the real deal, he took the Spiders of Richmond to victory in the FCS national championship in his first year as head coach.
